3. Google Personas
If you have more than one Google account consider setting up Google personas/identities/profiles. It will allow you to be logged in into multiple accounts and switch between them quickly. Resources: https://support.google.com/chrome/answer/2364824?co=GENIE.Platform%3DDesktop&hl=en |
4. Links to Google files in your Outlook Account
You use Outlook to manage your emails and that's where you will receive invitations to access shared Google files and/or folders. Like the example below:
You should know and remember that when you click on the link in the email, your browser will check what was the last Google account used by you and it will try to take you to that account. If the last thing you did was check your personal email, the system will open the link in your personal account not your work account.
This is easier to manage and control when you are using personas. Before you open the link, simply check which persona/account you are logged into and switch to the proper one if necessary (this took me a few times to get used to but saves me a lot of grief:))

5. Google Drive (Google Docs, Google Sheets, Google Forms)
With your Gmail/Google account you have access to a variety of other Apps including Google Drive.
You can access Google Drive by click on the icon in the list of Apps or by going to http://drive.google.com while you are logged into your Google account. Google Drive is a cloud version of your computer folders and USB stick with various other Apps included. |
ACTIVITIES
Let's:
DISCUSSION: How can Google Drive benefit you? How can it benefit your students?
TIP: ADDING FILE TO MULTIPLE FOLDERS WITHOUT COPYING OR MOVING IT
(mirroring - changes in one are reflected in the other ones)

Desktop version of Google Drive
Instead of uploading files to online Google Drive, I installed Google Drive for Desktop on my computer. It creates a folder called Google Drive for me and that folder syncs (you need to be connected to internet) with my online account. Since the Google Drive folder sits on my computer, I can easily drag and drop content to it as I would to nay folder on my computer. I absolutely love that feature!

Mobile Apps
You can install Gmail, Google Drive, Google Docs, Sheets, Slides etc as Apps on your mobile devices. When you login into them with your Gmail account they will sync as well.
- Create a folder called "LES session" and upload a Word file into it (the file can be any document you have on your computer)
- Upload a folder (any folder but make sure it's not too big so it can upload quickly for this activity) from your computer to the "LES session" folder on Google Drive
- Share the "LES session" folder with your colleagues (explore the permissions in the process)
- Share the "LES session" folder via a link (explore the permissions in the process)
